Great food and service as usual at The Kettle last week. You cannot believe my joy when I realized I was there on Wednesday and I was able to get the Portuguese bean and andouille sausage soup! It has been the same amazing recipe and delicious soup for over 35 years. I know this, because I worked there 34 years ago!! I did try a new entrée this time. I fully enjoyed the pot roast dip sandwich, which I added cheese to. Drooling now just thinking back to that meal. One friend had a gorgeous steak and vegetables, and another enjoyed breakfast for dinner. I hate to say it, but I can't remember the servers name. I think it was Michelle??, but she was lovely and attentive, and even the other staff kept our liquids full and checked on us. This restaurant NEVER disappoints!

Came here for a late night bite with the fam. We ordered the zucchini fries and chicken strips for appetizers. My husband really enjoyed the zucchini fries and he's not a big fan of them so that tells you a lot. For our entrees we ordered the braised pot roast dip sandwich which the meat was a bit too dry for my taste but we did really enjoy their French onion burger! I am definitely coming back just for that! We also ordered their chocolate chip pancakes and those were delicious, the kids and I devoured those! Our server was really nice to our kids and I love that they have wikki stix for the kids it kept them entertained. I would definitely come back!

The Kettle brings back many great memories! We lived in MB for about 20 years and The Kettle was our go-to place for yummy comfort food - even before we had kids! In fact, when I was put on bed rest with our first child and my husband was out of town, I had a craving for one of their delicious honey bran muffins and hobbled down our nearby walk street to get one! Their honey bran muffins are outrageously good- they are not those gross, cold bran muffins with raisins that you find at grocery stores. Theirs are house made, served upside down and warm, with whipped honey butter on the side. No raisins! And oh so delicious! We all also love their daily soups (especially Thursday's Broccoli Cheese), and their breakfasts, sandwiches, and burgers! We were in town recently with our now 24 year-old daughter and there was no way were going to miss going to The Kettle while we were there! We came here for lunch on a beautiful day and were seated at one of my favorite places there- an outdoor table where I could see the ocean. We had our usuals to eat but my daughter also tried their Southbay Crab Melt (lump blue crab cake, melted jack and cheddar cheese, tomato, cucumber, red onion, scallion aioli on a brioche bun). She loved it! Our server was friendly and patient - we have always had great servers here. It was a very busy day so the bathrooms were not in great shape, otherwise we had a great lunch!

My friends and I enjoy going to The Kettle for the brunch. Lots of great options to choose from and quick service. The muffins are out of this world. The ambiance is great! Parking can be rough.

I came here around 8:30 pm during the week to meet a friend and we didn't have to wait at all to get seated. We also found parking very close and very easily, which I'm sure is a vastly different experience from normal. The location is right in the heart of the main stretch of Manhattan Beach, so I would definitely expect difficult parking and very busy streets if you're going at any other time of day. We both got the French onion soup - mostly because it is infamous but also because I am an absolute sucker for a good French onion soup. We also got some garlic fries to split. I would absolutely skip the garlic fries if I come here again (too much sauce and very fake garlic-y taste was too much more me). The soup was so amazing, I'm very glad I got it and also will gladly eat it again any other time I come here. The restaurant has very strong rustic diner vibes. I loved it hahah but at the same time this is all classic diner food.

In business since 1973 and open 24 hours, this is definitely one of the most popular and probably one of if not the best diners in Manhattan Beach. It has a great location right downtown on the corner and they have a ton of seating options, both indoor and out. I love the design of the restaurant. It looks kind of like a mountain cabin in the middle of the city. They don't have a dedicated parking lot, but there is a lot of metered street parking and pay lots close by. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated for a Saturday morning brunch, but the wait was worth it. Our server was very polite and our food items came out quickly however, I will admit they were slow with the drink refills. The menu is not very large, but it has a ton of great classics on it. Eggs Benedict is my favorite breakfast dish so I was really pleased to see that they have many different Benedicts on the menu. I also love how their breakfasts come with a side juice because that's one of my favorite things to have at breakfast. For my first visit I chose the Crabcake Benedict and thought it was fantastic. The crabcakes are truly great and I loved every bit of it. I did not like the house potatoes side, there was not very many of them, nor was it as good as hashbrowns. Aside from that it was a great breakfast. I love how they are 24 hours and definitely would recommend to anyone. I plan to stop back in again to try more items sometime soon.

Atmosphere - Clean, lots of our and patio seating. Lots of street parking. No wait on Friday late afternoon. Customer service - Fast and friendly service. Taste - The Zucchini Parmesan appetizer was crispy, full of flavor and a great way to start our meal. The garlic burger (we substituted bleu cheese with cheddar) was cooked well and as we ordered it (medium well). Crab melt was crispy and flavorful (we got the aioli on the side). French fries and onion rings were crispy and seasoned well. Price - Average
